James Bond

Also known as Atlantis, Chanhassen, Lannen nopein

A fast, real-time race with no turns: both players simultaneously swap cards between their face-down piles and a shared row of face-up cards, trying to make every pile four of a kind first.

You'll need: One standard 52-card deck, no jokers.

Objective

Be the first to turn all six of your piles into four-of-a-kind sets.

Setup

  1. 1Deal the deck into face-down piles of four cards: six piles in front of each player (for two players).
  2. 2Place the final four cards face up in a row between the players.

How to play

  • On 'Go!', both players play at the same time — there are no turns.
  • Pick up one pile, look at its four cards, and optionally swap one card with one of the face-up table cards.
  • You may only look at one pile at a time; put it back face down before picking up another.
  • Only one card may be swapped at a time, and there must always be four cards in each pile and four face up on the table.
  • Aim to gather four cards of the same rank in each pile.

Good to know

  • There is no point score — it is a straight race. Track a games-won tally across rounds.

Winning

The first player to have four matching cards in every one of their six piles shouts 'James Bond' and reveals them to win.
